A few Camden photos and some changes…

•September 11, 2011 • 6 Comments

My little man just celebrated his 2nd month birthday. Doesn’t seem like much to most people, but for me, having Camden turn 2 months old was a huge event. Not in the fireworks and birthday cake kind of way, but in the, I can’t believe he’s here and has been a part of my life for that long. And in all honesty, I never thought about moments like this. But they are special and wonderful. And I’ve completely turned into one of those people who feels the need to document each monthly birthday.

Please don’t hold it against me.

Because, come on…look at how cute he is!

My sister came over for the big 2 month photo session and I finally, FINALLY managed to convince her to get in a few pictures. And I’m so thrilled that she did. I wouldn’t trade these photos for anything in the world.

Now if you’re wondering just how much a baby can change from one month to the next, take a look for yourself:
1st-2nd month comparison

It’s true. He’s a totally different baby now. Just as sweet as ever, only now with a little more chunk.

Now, for a bit of news…

In a few weeks I’ll be moving over to a new site. Day To Day Photos will still be here, but I’ve decided it’s time to move onto a real photography blog with a real web address. So even though the site is still completely under construction, feel free to sneak a peek at www.katieoblinger.com

But be warned, it’s nowhere near done. And what you see today, could change tomorrow.

Stay tuned…

Life has been a whirlwind these last 4 1/2 weeks. On July 8th, I gave birth to Camden Michael Oblinger.
And my world, our world, will never be the same.

It’s hard to believe that a month has already gone by. We’ve had quite a number of ups and downs, but it is true…the high points definitely outshine the low ones.

Can’t wait to share more photos…and watch this little man grow.

Double Baptism – Nate and Chandler

•March 28, 2011 • 1 Comment

Last weekend I was lucky enough to get to capture not one, but two baptisms. What an amazing experience it was. There’s something so sweet about it all….the familes, the friends…all there for that precious little baby.

And I got to witness all of that love twice.
First up, Chandler.

Four words:
I. Love. Her. Smile.

I’m pretty sure that smile would light up any room.

Second we had Nate.

And now for my favorite feature ever…his baby blues.

Have you ever seen more gorgeous eyes?
Did I mention, they were gorgeous?

The families were amazing. The parents were incredible. And the babies were ridiculously gorgeous.
Thanks to Amanda and Michelle for asking me to be a part of this special day.

Adelaide – 8 months

•February 5, 2011 • 3 Comments

So, I’ve been on a bit of a photography/blogging hiatus. I have a perfectly good excuse. I do. Promise.

But last weekend, I got back out there and had a photo session with one precious little 8 month old, Adelaide.

Have you ever seen eyelashes like that? I think I became a bit obsessed. After going through all of the shots I’d taken, about 20 were of shots where her eyelashes were the focal point.
Can you say jealous?

Such a sweet and beautiful little girl!
Thanks to the Burrells for getting me back out there.

My friend asked me to take a Christmas card photo of her little boy and dog. Okay, so I know understand why working with babies and dogs is difficult.

Turns out that they both have total minds of their owns. But with that said, they sure do make a precious pair.

And because I’m me, the photos didn’t stop there…

I had to keep going.

And going.
Because you never know what moment you’re going to catch.

engagement session: elisabeth and jim

•December 1, 2010 • 3 Comments

This past weekend, I photographed one of the funnest engaged couples I’ve ever, ever met.  And there is no doubt that their happiness, energy, and exuberance was shining through in each and every photo that was taken.

Well, that and their 15 outfit changes. Kidding Elisabeth! Just three. Maybe four, but who’s counting?

Did I mention they have interesting pets?
Meet Attilla. Pretty handsome, huh?

There are no words to describe how insanely adorable this little man is.
Really. I probably could have spent the entire day taking pictures of him, if he would have been game for it. But he was a one year old on the move…no really, I’ve never seen a one year old move that fast. When our brief time together had ended, I was exhausted. But I’m so glad I was able to capture his precious face and his adorable hands and his ridiculously cute clothes.

I met Lori a few years ago when I went in for my 6 month dental check up. That’s because Lori was my new dental hygienist. And she was the cutest, most outgoingly sweet hygienist I’d ever met.

Then she had a baby. Kate.
And her gorgeous family grew by one more.

And luckily, they asked me to take some family and Kate only photos….

And I can’t stand how beautiful that little girl is. I mean, have you ever seen more beautiful eyes?
Yeah, I didn’t think so.

Caroline and Ryan photo session

•November 8, 2010 • 11 Comments

I don’t know about you, but I love capturing moments. Not sure, but I think that may be why I picked up my camera last year. Well, that and to photograph food and puppies. Sometimes you just capture moments that are so sweet, no words can do them justice.  Like moments shared between a father and daughter.

And then you get lucky and capture moments of sheer bliss.

And then you let kids do what they do best…be themselves. And that’s when you capture something special.

Sneak Peak: Caroline and Ryan

This morning I was so lucky to get to photograph one of the most adorable families I’ve ever met. And photograph is what I did. I’m embarassed to say how many photos I actually took, but just know, it was a ton. Alright, not quite a ton, but in the family.
So, now I’m spending the afternoon doing some editing…a little post processing…and enjoying HGTV. But…I had to share a few shots from the session.

carolineryan

And yes, those kids really are that cute.
So stay tuned…tomorrow will be the full post.

ps. have I mentioned how much I love this “job”?
no? well, I do. like…a lot.
